Intumescent Painting

Dedicated off-site facility
Intumescent Painting

Midland Structures

Midland Structures has the ability and facilities to provide off-site intumescent painting in environmentally controlled conditions as part of a stand-alone or a full manufacturing service.

Following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017, the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) launched a review of the National Structural Steelwork Specification (NSSS). Best practice guidelines now strongly suggest the use of factory-controlled application of intumescent painting to provide the necessary environmental and application controls necessary to ensure the safety requirements of the protective coating/s.

Off-site application of intumescent paint provides greater control over conditions, application and quality. These controls allow for quicker, more accurate and more cost-effective solutions to the traditional onsite application.
